Dizzy's Bunny Hell

Video Games

This page is under construction.

I like video games. I didn't really grow up with them (Well, that's not entirely true? My mom had the remake of The Secret of Monkey Island on her iPad, and let me play it. I guess Angry Birds also counts, and there were those in-browser "free" games...), but now, they're a core interest of mine and something that I credit with changing my life.

I think that the game that really kickstarted my whole video game interest was probably Toontown Rewritten, the fan-made revival of Disney's Toontown Online. I had played TTO, of course, but the closure didn't really hit me until I went to Club Penguin to record a terrible "news" story about the closure of it, Disney's Pixie Hollow, and that Pirates of the Caribbean game that I'm pretty sure existed.

Then, I heard about Rewritten, I followed the alpha, I took advantage of the PlayLines to play during the beta, I became obsessed. My username ("Doctor Lollipop Dizzyspinner", often shortened to "Doctor Dizzy") stems from TTR, for crying out loud! And, like, being into the Toontown community kinda... Introduced me to more games, I guess. Undertale, The Stanley Parable, other indie games that got really popular among the Let's Players that I watched... This all culminated in my playing EarthBound in 2017 via emulation.

From that moment on, I became a Nintendo fan. I got into Kirby, WarioWare, I actually paid attention to Nintendo Directs, I saved my allowance money to get my very first video game system (A Nintendo 2DS XL!)...

Figuring my way around emulation really opened the doors to more and more games. I first played Metal Gear Solid in 2018, and that really changed my life in ways that I can't really put into words. Like, it introduced me to so many goddamn people, even if inadvertedly.

Anyway, I'm rambling. I think that all of this is just a long and roundabout way of saying that I like video games.
